Explore the history and relevance of Latinx and Chicanx student activism from it's roots in the Movimiento (The Chicanx/Latinx rights movement) of the 1960s to the present day. The focus will be on the Young Lords; the Puerto Rican student organization and M.E.CH.A. (Movimiento Estudiantil Chicanx de Aztlan), the Chicanx student organization. There will also be a discussion on the relevance of Chicanx and Latinx activism in today's society.
The facilitator will be Carlos Adams, a former Mechista and M.E.CH.A. alum.
